IP telephony (IPT)
IP (Internet Protocol), also known as VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, uses the broadband to carry voice calls rather than the traditional telephone network. IPT is suitable for multi sited operations with the main benefit being cost savings as calls within the group are free of charge.
There are now systems that integrate IPT with the traditional telephone network so that those costs can be kept to a significant minimum.
IP Direct Connect (IPDC)
IP Direct Connect uses IP to create a voice network across multiple sites and so helps transform sites from analogue to IP based technology where the PBX or IP PBX is connected over an IP link.
Customers can keep their existing telephone numbers and the service offers full emergency services support.
- Lower costs than ISDN
- Free calls between sites connected via IP
- Easily match lines to business needs
- Advanced call management features
- Avoids the public internet for Quality of Service
- Create a voice VPN across multiple sites
