Green Policy

Eurolink’s preferred and main carrier - Gamma Telecom - was, in January 2009, the first UK carrier in to achieve a net zero carbon footprint for calls carried across the network.

Gamma’s carbon footprint is independently assessed by Greenstone Carbon Management Gamma then works with The CarbonNeutral Company to offset this through the purchase of carbon credits and by investing in green projects such as reforestation and hydroelectricity.

Projects that the carbon credits support include the Sichuan Province Hydro Power Project in China and Wind Power projects in India.  Gamma have also adopted The Woodland Trust, which aims to prevent the loss of ancient woodland and increase native woodland, as their official charity.

Investment in soft-switching has also changed a power-hungry hardware infrastructure to an efficient, software driven, environment that uses considerably less power.

We also actively encourage our customers to reduce their paper use through electronic invoicing, either via emails or our online portal whilst we use local recycling facilities at all our offices to keep our usage to a minimum.

And, of course our telephony services themselves, such as broadband, audio conferencing, Mobile services and IP telephony much reduce the need for travel, and give much need help to the environment.
